Fire Safety Alert
UPDATE 8.21 8PM :
The LNU Lightning Complex Fire continues to burn with 15% containment, consuming over 302,288 acres throughout Northern California. Locally, our fire crews have done excellent work combating the fire, keeping the Tribal Community and Cache Creek Casino Resort safe, and keeping Highway 16 open and accessible. Our firefighters are healthy and strong, and we continue to coordinate with any available state and local resources as they continue the fight against area fires.
Now that fire threat to our area has decreased, we are closely monitoring air quality levels. Though the smoke is still heavy, air quality levels have been gradually improving throughout the day and are forecasted to further improve tonight and tomorrow. As a result, Yocha Dehe Golf Club will re-open tomorrow.
We are optimistic, but cautious, that fire conditions will continue to improve in our area. Barring a major, unexpected shift in weather conditions, we will discontinue our updates moving forward.

UPDATE 8.21 7:00AM:
The LNU Lightning Complex Fire (a collection of 7 fires, including the flames that are creating extensive smoke throughout the Capay Valley) continues to burn with 7% containment, consuming over 219,000 acres throughout Northern California. Locally, our fire crews have done excellent work combating the fire through the night, keeping the Tribal Community and Cache Creek Casino Resort safe, and keeping Highway 16 open and accessible. Our firefighters are healthy and strong, and we continue to coordinate with any available state and local resources as we continue the fight against area fires.
Coastal influences are prominent, and the humidity and mild wind conditions are ideal for bolstering our response as we move forward. We are optimistic, but cautious, that fire conditions will steadily improve. The smoke remains heavy and the air quality poor, making it important to stay indoors and stay safe. UPDATE 8.20 8:30PM:
The Casino and Tribal Community remain safe, and fire crews are doing a great job holding off the flames from reaching Highway 16, keeping roadways clear in this area. Weather conditions remain favorable and our teams continue to work hard out on the fire lines. We are conducting backfiring operations to push the fire back and away from our area, which causes increased smoke and visible fire activity. Firefighters remain healthy and well-nourished, ready to continue the good fight.

UPDATE 8.20 2PM:
There is no major change in the wind or roadway conditions, though we continue to monitor them closely, especially as the afternoon begins to warm up. Fire Apparatus from Yocha Dehe Fire Department, Esparto Fire, and Willow Oak fire have formed a Task Force and are collaborating to combat areas where fire is more prevalent. We continue to await the arrival of additional resources, but our crews are doing well and are well-nourished thanks to the Casino.

UPDATE 8.20 10AM:
It has been a long night for our personnel fighting the LNU Lightning Complex fires. The YDFD firefighters are in good spirits and continue to work to protect the Capay Valley. We are happy to report that, at this time, wind and weather conditions are favorable. Coastal conditions and lower temperatures are making our fire attack more successful, and we are being supported by additional State and local resources to combat the fire.
Cache Creek Casino Resort remains safe and open to the public. The fire is running parallel to Highway 16, burning predominantly toward the North, and is not affecting the roadway at this time. We do not expect any Hwy 16 closures at this time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our firefighters as they continue their work. We are also thinking of our co-workers, guests and community that have been displaced or at all affected by the fires.
Please be advised that outside air quality is extremely poor. Please stay indoors, out of the smoke as much as possible and stay hydrated.

In response to regional fires (known as the LNU Lightning Complex Fires), authorities have begun evacuations in Guinda and Brooks in the areas West of Highway 16.
Highway 16 is currently open. Cache Creek Casino Resort is currently safe and has not received evacuation orders.
Non-essential staff have been directed to stay home and further measures will be taken if conditions change.
Yocha Dehe Golf Club will not be open today due to poor outside air conditions.
We will continue to work closely with the Yocha Dehe Fire Departments, CAL-Fire and local authorities to support first responders and maintain safe operations. Our hearts are with all those who are directly affected by this ongoing situation.
